We've recently implemented "widgets" for affiliates. What on earth are affiliate widgets?

Basically, if you're a Fret Tunes affiliate, you can get some HTML code to put on your web site, blog, myspace etc which will display a little box on your page with an album cover and track listing and audio previews for any of our albums!

Affiliates earn a commission on sales through their links! Sign up now, add some links to your pages, spread the word, promote indie guitar music and make some money!

There's a new feature on the site, and yes, it was way overdue.

You may now purchase FLAC files.

Please note: these can be BIG files, up to 500MB in some cases, so please only choose this option if you have a fast internet connection.

We have an absolutely awesome affiliate program on Fret Tunes. It's designed to maximise the amount of money an affiliate can earn.

Some other affiliate programs require the customer to buy the product directly from the link, without going to any other pages on the site first. Not us. Basically, if someone follows an affiliate link from your site to us, then so long as they browse around Fret Tunes in that session, any items they add to their cart will be recorded against your affiliate ID.

The customer doesn't even need to buy the items then and there! They can close their computer down and come back tomorrow and buy the items. You'll get credited your commission.

Who can be an affiliate? Anyone with a web site! Even you! Try it, it's free to sign up. Just go to the affiliates page. The link is at the bottom of every page on the site.

Finally, Fret Tunes is up and running!

You can browse through the catalogue, listen to some sample audio, add albums to your cart, register, login, buy and download!

Sign up to sell your CDs, if you're an independent artist. Use the 'artists' link at the bottom of any page.

We've still got a bit of testing to do, and you can't buy FLAC files just yet. Well, you can, but you can only download MP3s until I load up all the FLACs. That'll take a couple of days.

The affiliate program will be running by the end of the week too.

Although you won't see it till launch in a few days, the checkout and purchase process is working. Not only can you pay using PayPal, you can also top up your Fret Tunes account and pay from that.

Having a Fret Tunes account means that if you don't have a credit card, for example if you're too young, you can get a parent or someone to buy a voucher for you and then you can use that for your purchases.

We're getting really close to the launch date now! How exciting!

User accounts are working now. This means you can register, and login.

Why would you want to? Well, for making purchases you'll need an account. To download your purchases, you'll need an account. With an account, you'll be able to write reviews, rate music, check your recommendations, and lots of other fun stuff.

Oh, and it's not long till launch!

Take a look around the site. You can browse via the menus on the left hand side.

The 'latest albums' link is an easy way to jump into the catalogue, or use the left side menus to browse by label, genre, or alphabetically by artist.

You can add albums to the shopping cart. Go on, try it! You can remove them as well, so don't worry, it's not a commitment to buy. The site will remember your cart, so next time you visit you'll still have those items in the cart.

When you select an album to look at, you can hear previews of each track. The previews go for a minute each. You'll need flash for this to work.

That's right! We've set an official launch date of August 6th 2006.

It's been a long time coming, but the site is working splendidly now. There are just a couple more features that need implementing, some testing and tweaking, and then we can launch.
